» Site Update :: Site Status Update ...
Posted by Nigel on Sunday, April 3 2005 at 10:09AM BST

As you'll have noticed, we haven't updated the site this year so far, which is ironic when you think of the amount of news that it going on at the moment, especially surrounding the new series. The fact is, I'm currently reviewing the direction that I wish to take the site in and as soon as I know what format this will take, you'll all be the first to know! I hope to at least start updating the news side of things again before too long!

In the meantime, no doubt everyone will have an opinion on the new series and with other things that are going on in the world of fandom, so we'd really love to hear from you over in our Forums, where you can discuss things with other fans. The more the merrier, so please do drop by.

» Site Update :: Web Links, Releases & Events update ...
Posted by Nigel on Saturday, October 23 2004 at 11:02AM BST

Just a couple of updates made to the Release Schedule page recently, to include a couple of new covers. We've also updated the image thumbnails in the Web Links page, as a few sites have undergone a revamp since the last image was taken. Furthermore, I've also added a couple of new recommended links.

The Events page has also seen an update, to include details of new signing events from 10th Planet, and the TV Guide has also been updated to reflect the current UK schedules.

Meanwhile, if you fancy a discussion please join our Forums, where we'd love to hear from you.

Get Firefox!Finally and on a totally unrelated matter - Give some thought to dumping IE and get Firefox!

A very long overdue update has been made to the Release Schedule page this evening, to include the releases for the rest of this year and into next. At the same time, we have also taken the opportunity to give the page a face lift, so you'll find all details of the releases easily to hand.

The Events page has also seen an update to bring it up-to-date.

More updates soon :-)

Been a while since I actually said anything here and appreciate that there are many areas of the site that need some attention.

I'm currently contemplating the future of the site and what direction it's going to go in. I still aim to get things up-to-date. Until then, I thank Stephen for keeping on top of the Latest News updates, which continue to be updated on your right.

Please keep an eye on the News Page (headlines to your right), for the latest updates.

In the meantime, please pop over to our Forums and let us know what you think of the casting and the sort of things that you'd like to see in the news series. We'd love to hear from you.

» Site Update :: Hiatus..
Posted by Nigel on Friday, February 27 2004 at 7:18PM GMT

Sorry for the lack of anything other than news lately. Rest assured, normal service will resume shortly.

We're also aware of the problems with 'Bad Referer' messages that some users are facing when attempting to use the 'Contact Us' form. In the meantime, if you are unable to use the form and receive this message, send us a normal EMail instead.

Thanks for bearing with us!

Whilst we may be a bit slow in updating certain parts of the site lately (like most of it!), you will find regular updates continuing to the Latest News page as you'll see from the headline links on your right, as there's quite a lot going on at the moment ... can't think why ;=)

To make up for the lack of updates recently, you'll notice there's been a rather larger-than-normal update to the Latest News page today. This brings the news pretty much up-to-date.

Over the next few days, the rest of the site will be updated, including a review of both The Curse of Fenric DVD and of the Invasion of the Dinosaurs VHS releases, courtesy of regular review Stephen Mills.

Posted by Nigel on Sunday, August 31 2003 at 7:07PM BST

It's been a while coming, but I've spent this afternoon bringing the Release Schedule page up-to-date.

Now I've got that sorted (which was the biggest task!), there will be more updates (hopefully!) during the next week, including several new reviews and updates to the TV Guide, Events and more.

» Site Update :: Competition Result ...
Posted by Nigel on Thursday, July 31 2003 at 9:51PM BST

Firstly, congratulations to Kenny McGuinness who was the winner of our recent Competition, and he walks away with a copy of Earthshock on DVD, along with a copy of the BBC Novel Illegal Alien.

Thanks to Stephen for keeping the Latest News up-to-date whilst I've been tied up with other matters over the last few weeks. I am aware that several areas of the site are in need of an update, including one of Stephen's reviews that's currently sitting on my PC waiting for me to finish things off. That said, I am about to jet off on a well deserved holiday the week after next, so expect things to return to normal upon my return.

Finally, the sites Forums may suffer some downtime during the evening of the 7th August, due to server upgrades being undertaken by the host. If you experience problems, please try again later.

Thanks

Nige.

A couple of the comments made by the members of the panel who awarded us this accolade included;

"Technically and visually it's lovely, a joy to behold and easy to use. The webmaster has clearly put a lot of work in."

"It does seem a little like Outpost Gallifrey's little brother in some ways, but there are interesting things to discover in all areas."

Thanks once again =)

Not often I have cause to complain .. But can the person who is finding it extremely amusing to keep voting continually for the same option, please stop! As your IP address is logged, if this abuse continues you will be reported to your ISP.

» Site Update : We're back and it's about time!
Posted by Nigel on Friday, April 25 2003 at 12:02PM BST

Welcome to the all-new Gallifrey5.

Well, it's been a while coming - but we're back! The first thing you'll notice is we've got a brand new look. After almost a year of hiatus and limited updates, we wanted to return with a fresh, clean, crisp new look and think we've pulled it off. Gone is the dark black background and heavy reliance on fancy banners and graphics - this time, we've kept it simple and think it's rather effective. You'll have to let us know what you think via the new Contact Us page.

As always, the Latest News headlines appear on your right, and these will be updated automatically when new stories are added

As there is quite a bit of work involved in changing some of the existing content into the new style of the site, this is a bit of a work in progress and as such, some of the links have been deactivated whilst we work on bringing everything up to date over the next few weeks. These currently include - Release Schedule, Reviews, Console Room and Events - However as mentioned, these will reappear as soon as possible.

There's a few new items added in this new version of the site. As well as the previously mentioned Contact Us page, you'll also now find a Mailing List, where you can sign up for EMail update notifications (which will be kept to a minimum) and also a Site Information page, which as well as making a few thanks you's and acknowledgements, will also give you a bit of a potted history of the site.

So thank you for bearing with us over the last twelve months, and we hope that you'll be back again soon.

As always, our Forums are open for business and we'd love to hear from you.

Regards

Nige
